FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
Q:
IS THERE A DEMAND FOR BARTENDERS TODAY?
A: Of course! Even in down economies people will
still find the money to go out and enjoy a night
on the town. Just think about how many
restaurants, bars, and clubs you see every single
day. Each one of those establishments are looking
for highly trained bartenders -- and we can
offer you the training to help you get the job
at the place of your choice.
Q: I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT ALCOHOL OR
DRINKS. WILL IT BE HARD FOR ME TO LEARN OR TO
KEEP UP WITH THE CLASS?
A: Most of our students start off on the novice
level -- meaning they have little to no exposure
to bartending or to the service industry as a
whole. Our staff is very experienced and highly
qualified to help you every step of the way.
Additionally, our classes are broken up in to 14
separate sections to help you build a strong
foundation and then build from there. If you
ever feel the need for more training you can
just come in during our business hours and
practice. We are here to help you succeed.
Q: WHY BARTENDING SCHOOL?
A: Bartending is a very competitive field yet
there are very few great bartenders. This is
often due to lack of proper training. Our
courses allow you to build and develop the
skills and confidence needed to be a great
bartender and to stand above the rest of field.
Q: WHAT IS THE AVERAGE AGE OF A BARTENDER?
A: Age is just a number when it comes to
bartending. There is no "perfect" age or "right"
age to be a bartender. We've seen people as
young as 17 in our classes and those who are in
their 50s seeking a second career. Just remember
your ability, personality and attitude count for
more than anything else.
Q: HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO BE A BARTENDER?
A: That depends on the State that you live in.
In the State of Colorado you must be at least 18
to serve alcohol behind the bar or as wait
staff. We have students that come through before
they turn 18, so that they can start bartending
as soon as they’re 18.
Q: I HAVE A FULL-TIME JOB. WILL SOMEONE STILL
HIRE ME IF I CAN ONLY WORK PART TIME?
A: Absolutely! It is fairly common for someone
to be a bartender only part time. Many
bartenders have a full or part time job doing
other things. However, some people find that
they do so well bartending that they make it
their full time job.
Q: DO YOU TEACH ME ALL THAT I NEED TO KNOW
ABOUT BARTENDING?
A: Yes we do. Our bartending classes are
designed to teach you about the many different
types of alcohol, proper customer service (this
is how you'll make most of your tips), the
proper way to set-up a bar, flair bartending
techniques, and everything else you'll need to
be a successful bartender.
Q: WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A CLASS?
A: If you happen to miss a class, for whatever
reason, you simply make it up for free. We just
need to reschedule you. It’s that easy.
Q: HOW MANY DRINKS WILL I LEARN?
A: We break up our lessons into 14 different
sections. At the end of all the sections you'll
have learned how to make around 200 different
drinks. Do NOT let this number intimidate you.
We make learning easy and fun!
Q: HOW SOON CAN I START?
A: Classes start every Monday throughout the
month and weekend classes are offered beginning
on the first Saturday of the month
Q: HOW DOES JOB PLACEMENT WORK?
A: It’s very easy. Once you have completed your
training, we offer local and nationwide job
placement assistance to all of our graduates. We
work for you to get your foot in the door
interviewing and working with a wide variety of
establishments that fit your needs. Graduates
from our sister school in Denver successfully
find jobs within one to two weeks after
completing our course.
